General certificates

General certificates for the export of animal feed containing products of animal origin and for the export of feed without products of animal origin

Some third countries accept a general health certificate for animal feed. In Belgium there is a general health certificate for animal feed containing products of animal origin and a general health certificate for animal feed without products of animal origin. These certificates state sanitary health conditions based on European and national legislation (including hygiene, unwanted substances, animal by-products, transmissible spongiform encephalopathies). The general certificates also contain a box in which statements can be added if these are required by the competent authority of the third country.

The general health certificates can be issued if the country of destination is included in the menu at the end of the selected certificate and no specific certificates or regulations are listed under “Certificates and company lists by country”.

If there is no specific certificate model and no country-specific requirements for the third-country product combination available on the FASFC website (under "certificates and company lists by country") and the third country in question is not included in the list of countries at the bottom of the last page of the relevant general certificate, this means that the FASFC is not aware of the requirements of this third country for the certification of the feed in question. Where applicable, the operator must submit the certification requirements of the authorities of the country of destination to the FASFC (for example, through an import license). For this purpose, the Belgian operator may contact the competent authority of the third country, for example via his potential customer or export-promoting agencies.

Certificates:

Health certificate for animal feed containing products of animal origin (health certificate for feedstuffs including feed materials, compound feedstuffs, additives and premixtures containing products of animal origin)

Health certificate for animal feed not containing products of animal origin (health certificate for feedstuffs including feed materials, compound feedstuffs, additives and premixtures without any product of animal origin)

General certificate for registration of an establishment and general certificate for registration of a product

The local control unit of the FASFC may also provide a general certificate for an establishment that is subject to official controls by this local control unit. This document may serve as a registration certificate of the establishment, for the competent authority of the country of destination. Some third countries ask for a registration of the product. To this end, a general certificate for the registration of a product may be issued.

At the bottom of the certificates there is a selection menu with countries that accept these certificates.
