There is no European legislation regarding prohibited plants.
However, the Novel Food legislation needs to be taken into account.
Belgian legislation regarding prohibited plants
At the national level, the Royal Decree of 31 August 2021 on the manufacture and trade of foods composed of or containing plants or plant preparations is applicable.
This decree contains lists of prohibited plants, edible mushrooms and plants to be notified of in food supplements.
